Moving from Social Media to RSS

I just thought I would share my experience in case anybody else is looking for a social media replacement. Recently, I made a significant change: I stepped away from social media and embraced RSS feeds. It has been a game-changer, and I wanted to explain why it might be worth considering.

Social media can often be overwhelming. I decided to give RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds a try and found it to be a more streamlined way to consume digital content. I have been using Feedly, which allows me to subscribe to my favourite websites and organise content effectively. This means no more annoying ads or irrelevant posts—just the information I find valuable.

With RSS feeds, I have control over what I read. I subscribe only to sources that interest me, eliminating the flood of unnecessary information. All my news and updates are in one place, which saves me from hopping between platforms and getting distracted.

Without the constant distractions of social media, my focus has improved. RSS feeds provide a distraction-free environment that allows for deeper engagement with content. They are also simple and secure. There is no tracking or personalised ads—just a private way to stay informed.

Switching from social media to RSS feeds has transformed how I consume online content. It feels like returning to the internet’s original promise: the freedom to access and enjoy information on my own terms. If social media is becoming too much, consider giving RSS a try. It might simplify your digital life, just as it has simplified mine.

Cheers!
